Roles and Responsibilities

Job Overview:
Provide a brief, 4-sentence description of the role, what success in the position looks like,

Technical architect actively participates in design and development of the core components/sub systems of Sunbird platform. The architect owns the architactural quality attributes like scalability, extensibility, performance and maintainence of the components. Works closely with the product managers, release managers to ensure that the design and development is as per the product requirements and ensures timely releases

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Design core components as per the quality attributes set by the client
- Review low level designs done by the developers
- Define Non Functional Requirements and design for NFRs
- Review code to ensure quality
- Work with product requierments to map requirements to design to code to testing
- Work with Release managers for timely delivery as per the schedules
- Manage abiguity by having discussions with all stakeholders

Technical Skills

Strong experience in architecture of Java and javascript based systems
Strong understanding of large scale distributed architectures, reactive programming paradigms, design patterns, information architecture, application development processes and practices
Knowledge of learning domain is added advantage
Must be very good in java, javascript
Experience on one or more Javascript frameworks such as JQuery, Twitter Bootstrap, backbone, Angular JS and others.
Should have strong understanding of transactional databases, and of multiple types of NoSQL databases like Cassandra, Elastic Search, Neo4j, and others
Understanding of AKKA, Play framework
Should have good devops working knowledge
Experience in TDD/BDD is required
Knowledge of Kafka, Azure/Google Cloud is added advantage
